Woodrow E. "Eddie" Reno, a former member of Hillsboro Community, passed away on December 25, 2023, in Port Orange, Florida, at the age of 87. Born on June 16, 1936, in Highland County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Woodrow W. and Irene (Harvey) Reno. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Wade Larrick, brother, Joseph Reno and sister, Dottie Ann Reno..
Eddie, as he was affectionately known, was a man with a genuine passion for life and a devotion to his family. Eddie's entrepreneurial spirit and determination led him to become a successful auto parts salesman. He owned and operated Reno's Auto Parts in Hillsboro for over 30 years, serving as a reliable source for car enthusiasts in the community. His love for cars extended beyond his professional life, as he had a particular affinity for auto racing, especially dirt track events. Eddie even had the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream by owning his own race car.
Eddie's warm personality and caring nature touched the lives of many. He cherished his wife, Jessie (Carter) Reno who were married for 69 years; dedicated father to his children, Kenneth (Melody) Reno of Daytona Beach, FL., Cynthia Reno and Melonie Reno of Port Orange, FL. Eddie was immensely proud of his grandchildren, Scott Nichols, Cara Reno, Tyler (Jodi) Reno, and Ashley (Ty) Harris, and 12 great grandchildren.
In remembrance of Eddie's life, a public viewing will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on January 4, 2024, at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery at the convenience of the family. This will be an opportunity for family, friends, and the community to come together, share fond memories, and celebrate the remarkable life Eddie lived.
