William "Billy" Marshall, Jr.

William "Billy" W. Marshall, Jr., of Hillsboro, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on January 3, 2026.

Born on September 24, 1941, in Harwood, Ohio, Billy was the son of the late William W. and Hilda (Allen) Marshall, Sr. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Curt Hicks and a sister, Janet Glenn.

Billy spent his life dedicated to his family and career as a service technician in the agriculture industry, working with Luschek John Deere and Mayer Farm Equipment until his retirement.

Billy was known for his love of the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or tending to his garden, he found joy in nature and the simple pleasures of life. He was also a devoted dog lover and took pride in building log splitters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Reba (Dean) Marshall; son, Mike (Vicky) Marshall; daughter, Barbara Hicks; grandchildren, Curtis (Rachel) Hicks, Daniel (Jessica) Hicks, Michael Marshall, Steven (Megan) Hicks; great-grandchildren Paris, Faith, Nash, and Jase Hicks; and two sisters, Mary Bowling and Carol (Delbert) Harless; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Dr. Rev. Dan Lamb will officiate services.

Graveside service will follow at Hamer Township Cemetery.

Family requests memorials to the Mission Fund at Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church or St. Jude.
