**Obituary for Steven J. Coomer**
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven J. Coomer of St. Petersburg, FL., formerly of Hillsboro, who left this world peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 13, 1953, in Fairborn, Ohio, Steve was the son of the late David W. and Roberta Ann (Newbry) Coomer. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his step daughter, Holly; brother, Rob Coomer and sister, Deborah Coomer.
A proud graduate of Eastern Brown High School, Steve served his country honorably as a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. His commitment to duty instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility that he carried into his civilian life. After returning from service, he dedicated many years to the fuel delivery industry, working for well-known companies such as BP Oil, Gary Tucker Oil Company, and ultimately retiring from Lykins Oil Company. His steady hands and unwavering reliability contributed to countless journeys across Ohio, ensuring that homes and businesses received the resources they needed.
Steven is remembered not just for his work ethic, but also for the warmth he brought to every relationship. A cherished husband, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Victoria "Vicky" (Woodward) Coomer. He was a steadfast brother to David (Carolyn) Coomer and Patricia Heyob. Each of them will carry forward the legacy of love, strength, and loyalty that Steve epitomized.
Steve's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
