Sonya Limbacher

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sonya Elaine Limbacher, who left this world on December 30, 2025, at the age of 59. She was born on February 23, 1966, and spent her life in Portsmouth, OH, where she became a cherished member of the community.
Sonya is preceded by her parents, James and Jackqueline (Shy) Short.

Sonya was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose love and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jacki (Timothy Hudgins) Limbacher, her son Stephen (Kali Bartram) Limbacher, and her beloved grandchildren, Stephen Limbacher, Gideon Hudgins, and Asher Hudgins. She is also survived by her brother Eric Short and her sister Arminthea Davis, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

On behalf of Sonya's wishes, she is to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Sonya's legacy will live on through the lessons she imparted and the joy she brought to all around her. As we come together to grieve and celebrate her life, we remember the love she gave so freely and the light she shone in our lives. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she shared throughout her life.
