Shawn Hopkins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawn Hopkins, a loving father, devoted brother, and cherished friend, who departed this life on July 28, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on July 2, 1971, in Wilmington, Ohio, Shawn spent his formative years in the embrace of family and community, forging a lasting legacy through hard work and dedication. Shawn is preceded by his parents, Cecil and Beverly (Metz) Hopkins, Jr.

Shawn dedicated many years of his life to the logging profession, a testament to his strength and resilience. His hands were well acquainted with labor, but his heart was eternally tethered to his family. An active member of the Grace Bible Church, he found solace and community in his faith, nurturing his spirit alongside those he loved.

Above all, Shawn cherished his children, Shyann (Cody) Egner and Caleb Hopkins, and he took great pride in being a grandfather to Asher and Tucker Page and Jolee Egner. He also leaves behind a brother, Ronnie (Jennifer) Hopkins. His love for his family was boundless, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them, imparting values of perseverance and devotion.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Monday August 4, 2025 at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM until time of services on Monday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
