Ruth H. Georges

A much loved wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, Ruth Hixon Georges, 81 of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. She was born on August 3, 1944 in Hillsboro to Raymond and Georgeanna Hixon and little sister to Marilyn Hixon.

Ruth's life was full! The career dear o her heart was a teacher, obtaining both a Bachelor's degree and Masters in Education. She taught at all levels, but her love was elementary school. Aside from teaching, Ruth was an active mother, grandmother and member of the community. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, very active in her children's lives. This community mindedness then transferred to her work at the Lion's Club of Wilmington. Ruth was very active in her church, sang in the choir and had a profound faith in God. She quilted, played bridge, traveled with her husband and laughed with friends and family. There is too much love and laughter to fit into a summary of her life.

Ruth is survived by her husband, James Georges, her children, Melinda Mangels and Steven Wolfe, her stepson, Charles Georges, her grandchildren, Zachary Wolfe, Maxwell Wolfe, Oliver Wolfe, Beatrix Wolfe, Hazel Wolfe, Roger Mangels, Brook Mangels, Shelby Georges, Seth Georges and her great grandchildren, Evelynn Barnes, Atlas de Roziere, Bonnie de Roziere, Matilda Georges and Selah Wolfe.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday February 5,2026 at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday February 4, 2026 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
