With heavy hearts yet joyful spirits, we celebrate the life of Robert "Bob" Brown, Jr., who left us on July 7, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on August 19, 1961, in West Union, Ohio, Bob's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for history. He was a cherished resident of Hillsboro, Ohio, where he made countless memories and connections that will endure. He is preceded by his parents, Robert and Virginia (Nesbit) Brown, Sr.

Bob graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1979, proudly continuing his education at Southern State Community College. In 1983, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, an achievement that spoke to his dedication and commitment to learning.

Throughout his life, Bob was passionate about his community and was an active member of the Highland County Historical Society, where he shared his love for history with others and helped preserve the stories that shaped our shared heritage. His enthusiasm for the past inspired many, and his impact will not be forgotten. Throughout his lifetime, Bob was involved in 54 plays: Shadowbox Theatre, Gaslight Theatre, UC, Charade, Southern State Community College and ACT.

Bob is survived by his dear brother, Greg Brown, aunts, Alice Runyon and Beverly Nesbit, uncle, Kenneth Nesbit, several cousins and a host of friends whose lives were enriched by his warmth and kindness.

A Celebration of Life will be at the Southern State Community College Auditorium at 4:00 PM on Saturday July 25, 2026.

Friends may call at 2:00 PM until time of services on Saturday at the school.

We will forever cherish the bright light that was Bob Brown and hold him dearly in our hearts.
Burial will take place at the New Market Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
