It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Reed, age 82, who left us peacefully on January 22, 2026. Born on August 9, 1943, in Bridlington England, Norma spent her later years residing in Hillsboro, Ohio. She is preceded by her parents, Ernest and Muriel (Smallwood) Braithwaite, husband, Floyd Reed and sister, Maureen Laird.
A devoted Health Unit Coordinator, for 44 years at the Highland District Hospital, Norma exemplified compassion and dedication in her work in the health care industry, touching the lives of countless patients and colleagues alike. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her profession, as she was deeply committed to her family and her faith. A cherished member of the Sinking Spring Community Church, Norma loved the Lord wholeheartedly and shared that love with everyone around her. A passionate gardener, she found solace and joy in nurturing her plants, reflecting her nurturing spirit in all areas of her life. Her heart was most full when surrounded by her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished deeply.
Norma is survived by her two beloved sons, Terence (Jill) Reed and Spencer (Tonya) Reed, who hold her memory close to their hearts and will continue to carry her legacy forward. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mallory (Luke) Bihl, Evan (Katie) Reed, Lindsey (Corey) Gabriel and Corey (Beaubrun) Reed, great grandchildren, Grace, Georgia and Sullivan Bihl, Bode and Blair Reed, Cooper and Conrad Gabriel, brothers, Trevor Braithwaite, Terence Braithwaite and Arthur Braithwaite and sisters, Pauline Graham, Brenda Dickinson and Carol Rose.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Friday January 30, 2026 at the Sinking Spring Community Church. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday January 29, 2026 at the church.
