Mary M Smith

Mary M. Smith, who left us peacefully on August 19, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on May 12, 1936, in Sinking Spring, Ohio, the daughter of the late Delbert and Alma (Bobb) Soale. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Soale. Mary spent her early years in this close-knit community before graduating from Sinking Spring High School.

After completing her education, Mary dedicated over 35 years of her life to working as the Office Manager for Jerry Haag Motors in Hillsboro, retiring in 2000. Prior to that, she lent her skills to Matson Chevrolet, showcasing her commitment to her work and her community.

Mary was not only a devoted employee but also a passionate gardener and a member of the Hillsboro Garden Club. She found great joy in the outdoors and had a special love for flowers-her garden was a true reflection of her bright spirit.

Mary leaves behind her cherished family: her son, Donald Smith; her daughters, Judy Runyon and Betty Smith; and her granddaughter, Melissa Viney and one great grandchild.. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Burial will be in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
