Laverne Hooley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laverne Hooley, a beloved, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, who left this world on January 1, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 23, 1950, in Adams County, Ohio. Laverne spent her life with an unwavering spirit and a deep devotion to her family and friends. Laverne is preceded by her parents, Lester and Alpha Conley, husband, Butch Hooley, three brothers, Floyd, Michael and David Conley and four sisters, Barbara Lease, Pearline Jordon, Myrtle Hawes and Ruth Ann Wical.


Laverne is survived by her two daughters, Robin Elaine Hooley and Cory (Isaac) Curtis, who cherished their mother beyond words and will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by her loving sister, Sharon Conley, five grandchildren and many other extending family members and friends who will remember her kindness and the laughter they shared throughout their lives.

Laverne had a spirited personality that shone brightly in every endeavor she pursued. A devoted member of the Hillsboro Church of God, she found joy in her faith and community. She was also a familiar face at the local VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary, where her enthusiasm for camaraderie and service left a lasting impact. In her leisure time, Laverne enjoyed playing bingo, often sharing laughter and stories with fellow players.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday January 6, 2026 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of services on Tuesday at the Thompson Funeral Home.

As we honor the memory of Laverne Hooley, let us remember the warmth of her smile, her unwavering support, and the many ways she enriched the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
