John Michael Kipp

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Michael Kipp of Hillsboro,who departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on August 17, 1948, in Clarksville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ralph and Betty (Vallee) Kipp. Beside his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Bill and Bob Kipp.

John proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a time that shaped his life and deepened his appreciation for the simple joys of home and family. He spent many rewarding years as an equipment operator, for the ODNR where he retired.

John's passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for hunting-whether it be turkey, deer, rabbit, or squirrel, he found tranquility and purpose in nature. He cherished his time spent cutting firewood and sharing stories about his beloved John Deere tractors, which were emblematic of his hardworking spirit and fondness for the rural lifestyle.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma (Chrisman) Kipp, whom were married on December 27, 1970; his son, Robert (Patty) Kipp; grandchildren, Destinee and Siarra, brother, David Kipp and sisters, Beverly Brown, Kathleen Kipp, and Lorie Kipp. Each of them carries a piece of John's spirit, and together they will ensure that his legacy of love and resilience continues.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Graveside Services will be at 1:30 PM on Monday September 28, 2026 at the Stringtown Cemetery. Military honor rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
