James L. "Jim" Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the Hillsboro community, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on February 20, 1947, in Hamilton, Ohio, Jim dedicated his life to nurturing the talents of others through music and steadfast service to his church and community. He is preceded by his parents, Roger and Doris (Root) Williams and his in-laws, John and Sylvia Roth.

As a passionate Band Director, Jim inspired countless students during his 18 years at Hillsboro and Leesburg schools and was a cherished member of the Southern State Community Band for 15 years, sharing his love of music with those around him. His commitment to education and the arts touched the hearts of many, and his legacy will live on through the lives he influenced.

Beyond his role in education, Jim was a devoted member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, where he contributed over fifty years as treasurer and Bible school teacher. His faith and community involvement were a testament to his character, and he was known for his unwavering kindness, humor, and support to all who knew him.

In addition to his contributions to music and his church community, Jim had a successful career as a Lead Sorter at ABX, where he worked diligently for 22 years. His strong work ethic and determination were evident in all aspects of his life.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Marsha (Roth) Williams; his daughters, Michele Williams, Rebekah (Bill) Olliges, and Elizabeth (Aaron) Crabtree; grandchildren, Cameron (Tina) Olliges, Christian ( Morgan) Olliges, Caleb Olliges, Ben Crabtree and David Crabtree and sister, Linda (Harold) Colwell. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, knitting together family and friends through shared memories and musical melodies.

A celebration of Jim's remarkable life will be held at a later date.
