It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Michael Spires who departed this life on April 25, 2026, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Columbus, OH. Mikey was cherished by family and friends alike for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication.


Born on May 9, 1979, to the late Raymond M. Spires and Linda Janie Spires. Mikey graduated from West Union High School in 1997. He married Angela, the love of his life on November 18, 2008. Mikey was a self-employed private contractor, he prided himself by always doing his best for his clients. Mikey enjoyed spending time with family, caring for his pets, working in his garden, and restoring vintage cars. Mikey will be remembered for his laughter, kindness and the countless memories shared with those closest to him.


Mikey leaves behind his wife, Angela Amanda Spires, daughters, Sydney Alexandra Spires, Kelsey Georgetta Gilkison, Katelynn Olivia Geneve Spires and Aryanna Nicole Spires, son, Caleb Shawn Henderson, mother and stepfather, Linda Janie Spires (Jeffrey E. Tackett), sister, Chasity (Leon) Morrison, stepbrothers, Jeffrey (Lily) Tackett, Matthew (Christy) Tackett and Jeremy Tackett and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.


A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
