Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kate (Leeth) Cameron, his two children - son Chris (Cindy) Cameron and daughter Angela Cameron; grandchildren Tisha (Tim) Ross, Tonya Cameron, Sidney Merrick, Lindsay (Brenden) Turner, Matt (Nikki) Walker, and Samantha Cameron; great-grandchildren Jordan Cameron, Madison Ross, Baleigh Rheinscheld, CJ Evans, Gavin Neal, Allen Walker, and Declan Turner; sisters Judy (Don) Wick and Sandy (John) Ferneau, and brother Danny (Sue) Cameron; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jim grew up in Cynthiana, OH and graduated from Western Latham High School in 1963, which is where he met his wife, Kate. Jim graduated from the Columbus Barber College in 1965 and worked as a barber in Hillsboro before he was hired as a salesman at Sherwood Auto and Camper Sales, where he worked both full time and part time over a span of 40+ years. In 1984, Jim accepted a position with the State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) at Rocky Fork Lake and Paint Creek, where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
Jim loved collecting antique toy cars and trucks and enjoyed attending auctions. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his four-legged companion, Joey.
Thank you to all who have offered our family love and support during this difficult time. We are especially grateful to Jim's granddaughter, Tisha, and her husband Tim. The care and compassion Tisha and Tim provided Jim gave the family comfort, knowing he was well cared for and was able to remain at home until the end, as he wished.
Jim's final request was to be cremated and buried with his wife. He also requested that no visitation or services be held. Thompson Funeral Home will be serving the family.
