With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Earl "Jack" Howland, born on June 10, 1948, in Dayton, OH. He peacefully left this world on August 24, 2024, at his home in Hillsboro, OH, surrounded by the memories of a life well lived. Jack was a man of few words, but his strength, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his family spoke volumes.
Jack is preceded by his parents, Melvin and Helen (Neff) Howland, wife, Nancy (Lawson) Howland on July 25, 2020 and two brothers, Gary Howland and Duane Hoover.
In his quiet way, Jack touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially by his beloved children, Jodi (Ken) Burk, Steve Howland, Jesse (Charity) Howland and Bobby (Misty) Cowan; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and sisters, Sandra (Ray) Ross and Lisa Karnes. As the light of his presence dims in this world, the memories of his love and the lessons he imparted will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
On behalf of Jack's wishes, he is to be cremated. A Celebration of Life is being planned and date , time and place will be announces later. May his spirit find peace as we navigate the journey of grief and remembrance in the days to come.
