George Edward Lyons

George Edward Lyons, age 84, of Latham, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.

Born on July 3, 1941, in Wilmington, Ohio, the son of the late Con and Gladys (Corn) Lyon. Beside his parents, George was preceded in death by wife, Patricia A. (Ison) Lyons on April 20, 2023; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Marion Osborn; niece, Connie Sims.

A proud graduate of the Class of 1959 from Kingman High School, George went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard. His commitment to service did not end there; he spent many years driving a school bus for Western Latham School, ensuring the children of the area were safely transported to and from school. His career as a farmer reflected his deep connection to the land and nature, and he later took on a role at the Pike County Engineers.

George loved the outdoors and was as an avid deer hunter and mushroom hunter. His passion for nature was evident in every aspect of his life.

George is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Lyons, and his brother-in-law and caregiver, John Ison, cousins and a host of friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Sinking Spring Community Church, 23 North Main Street, Sinking Spring, OH. 45172.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sinking Spring Community Church.

Pastor Brian Birkhimer will officiate with burial following in the Washburn Cemetery.
