Garald McDonald

Garald W. McDonald, 76 of Hillsboro, Ohio, died peacefully on December 5, 2025.

Born March 19, 1949, in Columbus, OH to Thomas and Louise (Monroe) McDonald, he was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Kathy, Suzanne, Gary and T.J. and his late wife Mary Ann Everhart-McDonald.

Garald proudly served the City of Columbus as a firefighter and retired from the Columbus Fire Department after many years of dedicated service.

A man of faith, Garald placed his trust in Jesus Christ and is now in the presence of his Lord, living eternally in Heaven with God.

A talented woodworker, Garald enjoyed scuba diving and traveling the country in his RV.

In 2023 he married his loving wife, Kay. Their nearly two years together brought him great happiness. Besides his wife, he is also survived by his children, Tim (Molly) McDonald and Heather McDonald, grandchildren, Brittany (Adam) Bolton, Marah McDonald, Callie (Cole) Walker and Aidan McDonald and his beloved dogs, Shadow and Jessie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
