**Obituary for Eleanor Sanders**

Eleanor Sanders, beloved mother, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 93 in Grove City, Ohio. Born on November 9, 1932, in Sinking Spring, Ohio, the daughter of the late John L. and Mary E. (Simmons) McElwee. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Alfred Sanders who passed away on January 27, 2015; five brothers, Lawrence, Dean, Buckey, Glenn and Don McElwee; two sisters, Audrey Rhoads and Jacqueline MacKay. Eleanor was a lifelong resident of the area, having grown up and graduated from Sinking Spring High School.

Eleanor enjoyed a fruitful career in management at Lazarus, a retail clothing store, where she was known not only for her professionalism but also for her warm spirit and kindness towards her colleagues and customers alike. Her passion for family and friends was evident in all that she did, and she cherished the time spent with loved ones.

Eleanor was also a passionate supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, a love that strengthened her connections within the community and among fellow fans. Her enthusiasm for life and her unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Eleanor is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Alison Sanders; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Sinking Spring Community Church.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Sinking Spring Community Church with Pastor Greg Seaman officiating.

Graveside services will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
