Dianne Sue Hopkins, age 73, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away on May 2, 2025.

She was born on September 25, 1951, in Wilmington, Ohio, to the late Delbert and Ruby (Leber) Shelton. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Bobby Shelton; one sister, Joyce Stephenson.

Dianne's warm smile and dedication to her work as a waitress touched the lives of many in the Hillsboro Community. Over the years, she served with distinction at several local establishments, including the Coffee Cup, Frontier Cattle Company, Wooden Spoon, and Mageee's. Her commitment to service and her ability to connect with customers were hallmarks of her career.

On May 2, 1970, Dianne was united in marriage to George "Oscar" Hopkins, Jr.. They were blessed with two loving children, her son, Ralph (Christi) Hopkins; her daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Hopkins; two cherished grandchildren, Austen and Jasmine Hopkins; sister, Teresa Williams; brother, Henry Shelton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Her family describes Dianne as independent and, at times, a bit stubborn-qualities that endeared her to friends and family alike. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Graveside service with burial following will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 12:30 P.M. at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Hillsboro.

Dianne Sue Hopkins will always be remembered for her unwavering spirit, kindness, and the warmth she spread throughout.
