Deloris Evelyn Shoemaker, 82 years of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024,
Deloris was born January 5, 1942, in Highland County, the daughter of the late Donald "Tag" and Sarah "Kate" (Vanpelt) Shoemaker. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Kay Shoemaker; two brothers, Ronnie "Butch" Shoemaker, Russell "Jack" Shoemaker, twins, Jane and James Shoemaker; sister-in-law, Kitty Shoemaker; niece, Stephanie L. (Harphant) Harris.
Deloris worked at Famous Recipe Chicken in Xenia, Long John Silver's in Hillsboro, Domino's Pizza in Hillsboro and retired from Walmart in Hillsboro. Deloris was born and raised on a farm and continued farming her lifetime.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and James "Jim" Harphant of Xenia; sister-in-law, Violet Shoemaker of Hillsboro; nephews, Jeremy (Joanna) Shoemaker of Hillsboro, Andy (Sabrina) Shoemaker of Hillsboro, William Lee (Jennifer) Harphant of Xenia, Paul Shoemaker of Cincinnati; nieces, Jessie (John) Parker of Hillsboro, Jill Shoemaker; several great and great great nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, especially her special friend, dog Ruby.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro,
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
