It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clara M. Yankey, who left us on February 19, 2026, at the age of 85.
Clara was born on January 17, 1941, in Adams County, OH., the daughter of the late Frank and Iva Lucille (Ogden) Creech. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Moore; four sisters, Carolyn Lynn Creech, Kathy Sue Black, Virginia L. Dyer, Lorene Storer; brother, Herschel Lee Creech.
She retired from Irwin Auger Bit, where she dedicated many years of hard work in the factory-an industrious spirit that she carried throughout her life.
Clara was a loving mother to her sons, Gary (Jackie) Moore and Terry Moore, and daughters Iva Karen Hall, Teresa (David) McClanahan, and Jacqueline (David) Hagen.A devoted grandmother to nine, Marie Moore, Christine Stastny, Anthony Moore, Jimmy Smith, Christopher Moore, Amber Juarez, Cody Jones, Amanda Huffman, Jaden Hagen, and several great grandchildren. She was the proud sister to Frank Mernita) Creech, Lonnie Creech, Shirley Ann (Ronald) Hawkins, and Janet Kay Shroyer; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Clara's family was her greatest treasure, and she always made the time to show them just how much she cared.
Clara had a passion for gospel music that filled her home with joy. She loved to explore history, admire flowers, and take peaceful strolls through old downtown Maysville, KY, where she enjoyed cruising through the charming streets. Her zest for life and her warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will beheld Tuesday, February 24, 2026 fro 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Thompson Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Jeff Davis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Cemetery.
