Carolyn Searls

May 20, 1955 — September 13, 2025

Carolyn S. Searls, a cherished mother and beloved member of the Greenfield community, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on May 20, 1955, in Highland County, Ohio, Carolyn was known for her warmth, kindness, and the love she poured into her family and friends. Carolyn is preceded by her parents, Harold and Orma (Humphrey) Pitzer and sister, Beverly Pitzer.

Throughout her life, Carolyn embraced every moment with grace and enthusiasm. She was a proud graduate of Hillsboro High School and devoted her career to serving her community as a bank teller, where she touched the lives of many with her friendly demeanor and attentive service. Her greatest joy came from her role as a mother to her daughter, April Clift, and her son, John Searls. Carolyn's nurturing spirit and unwavering support provided a strong foundation for her family, creating a refuge filled with love and laughter. Besides her children, she is also survived by her grandchildren, Dakota, Janelle and Izayah Clift, sister, Kathy (Dave) Emond, brother, Randy Pitzer and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In her spare time, Carolyn found solace in the art of knitting. She skillfully created beautiful pieces that were not only a testament to her creativity but also served as cherished gifts to those she loved. Her passion for knitting was a reflection of her character-thoughtful, patient, and caring, weaving connections through every stitch.

Carolyn's legacy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her not only for her talents and kindness but also for her ability to bring people together.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
