Carol E. Schaarschmidt, 79 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at the Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born in Portland, ME on October 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Carroll and Blanche (Hamlin) Leonard. Besides her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Walter "Buck" Schaarschmidt, two sons, Robert and David Ridlon and a brother, Ronald Leonard.
Carol was involved with the youth actives at the Riegel Ridge YMCA.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Craig) Morooney of Pasadera, MD and brother, Bob (Beverly) Leonard of Hillsboro.
On behalf of Carol's wishes, she is to be cremated and a service will be held at a later date.
Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
