Betty J. Hunter, 91 years of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021.
Betty was born March 11, 1929 in Highland County, OH., the daughter of the late Virgil and Leota (Johnson) Dodds. Beside her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Hunter on May 15, 1998; two sisters, Bernadine Foraker, Margaret Ann Foraker; two brothers, Lowell and Howard Dodds.
Betty was a graduate of Greenfield-McClain High School. Betty and Donald owned and operated Hunter Meats and Maple Valley Farm in Marshall. Betty was a member of the Marshall United Methodist Church, Hillsboro Chapter #441 O.E.S. and was an avid Bridge Player.
Betty was blessed with two loving daughters, Kim (Trent) Allen and Karen (Tim) Sheeley of Hillsboro; four pride of her life grandchildren, Kelsey (Ethan Dickey of Hillsboro, Hunter Sheeley of Hillsboro, Halee Allen of Hillsboro, Troy Allen of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Willene Miller of Beaver Creek,OH.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 6, 2021 at the Convenience of the Family at the Marshall United Methodist Church. Pastor Lloyd Shoemaker will officiate with burial following in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
