Barbara Newman

Barbara J. Newman, born on August 2, 1941, in Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A lifelong resident of Hillsboro, Barbara was a cherished member of the community, known for her warm spirit and infectious smile. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Loreta (Siders) Everetts, husband, Larry Newman, brother, Dean Everetts and sister-in-law, Evelyn Everetts.

Barbara dedicated many years of her professional life to Producers Stockyards, Star Bank and retired from Merchants National Bank, where her kindness and commitment to service made a lasting impact on both colleagues and customers. After her retirement, Barbara found great joy in engaging with her family and friends, often playing card games that echoed with laughter and love.

Barbara was a devoted member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, where she drew strength from her faith and fostered many friendships. She was the proud mother of two sons, Rodney (Carmen) Newman and Kevin Newman, who were her pride and joy. Barbara adored her grandchildren, Shay Newman, Reed Newman, Breckin Newman, Danny Strong and Dusty Strong, one great grandchild, brother, Donnie Everetts, sister-in-law, Ann Everetts and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday December 3, 2025 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of services on Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Barbara will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her unwavering positivity and the love she brought to the lives of so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her memory to the Hillsboro Church of Christ, a testament to her lifelong commitment to her faith and community.
