Anna Lou Dyer, age 95, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Adams County, Ohio on September 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lula Myers.
Anna Lou graduated from Belfast High School in 1948 and grew up on a farm surrounded by love and strong family values. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Darrell Myers, Chester Myers, Ruth Jones and Sylvia Pavlak. After graduating high school, Anna Lou moved to Cincinnati where she began her career as a caretaker. On December 31, 1952, she married the love of her life, Hughie Dyer of Hillsboro. Together they built a loving family and shared many happy years together.
She is survived by her children, David Dyer, Joyce (Mark) Ford, Sherry (Bart) Barber and LouAnn (Craig) Rosselott. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Brooke (Ben) Lucas, Cassie (Caleb) Sellman, Jon (Angela) Barber, Kayla (Drew) Smith, Christopher Ford and Chloe Barber. She was also blessed with 9 great grandchildren.
Anna Lou worked as a buyer for Haines Department Store and later dedicated herself to the full time care of her mother. She was a faithful member of the Danville Church of Christ and its Sunshine Sircle.
Anna Lou found great joy in caring for others and creating memories with her family. She loved cooking large family meals and was especially known for her homemade noodles and apple pie.
She and Hughie shared a passion for travel and enjoyed adventures across the United States. She also loved gardening and playing with her cats. At the age of 90, Anna Lou became a published author. Her writing was used to share her faith in the Lord and inspire others.
Anna will be deeply missed, but she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to shine through generations.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday May 30, 2026 at the Danville Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Hamer Township Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM until time of services on Saturday at the church.
