Mary L. Priest, a beloved member of the Leesburg community, passed away on July 3, 2024. Born on December 31, 1925, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments shared with her family and friends. She is preceded by her parents, Charles and Sarah (Anders) Newlan, grandson, Dustin Mottie, granddaughter, Leslie Hafer, 2 brothers, a baby sister and three brother-in-laws.

Throughout her life, Mary touched the hearts of many with her unwavering love for her family, a sentiment that extended to her children and grandchildren. She found joy in being a member of AMVETS #61, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to her community in meaningful ways.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Pam (John) Mottie of Hillsboro, son, Thomas (Ruth) Priest of S.C., four grandchildren, Mike, Lisa, Amy and Ryan, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was known for her green thumb, often seen tending to her garden with great care and nurturing her beloved flowers to bloom beautifully. In addition to her gardening skills, she had a passion for sewing and could often be found creating intricate pieces with meticulous detail.

Funeral services to honor Mary's life will be 12:00 PM Saturday July 13, 2024 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the White Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of services on Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home.
Mary's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
