Jean Newkirk

Jean "Jeanie" C. Newkirk, 80 years of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday March 15, 2022. Jean was born April 2, 1941 in Highland County to Heber "Pete" and Ruby (Wagoner) Clouser. She was a graduate of the first graduating class of Paint Valley High School in 1959; she enjoyed gardening and writing. She was a published poet. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Danny G. Newkirk and her parents. She is survived by her two sons Larry Wayne (Rachel) Haught of Frankfort and Damon (Debbie) Haught of Hillsboro, two daughters Valerie (Patrick) Gaines of Hillsboro, Vannessa Newkirk of Hillsboro, grandchildren, Ethan Haught, Sarah Haught, Ashley Stephenson, Abby Haught, Allison Gaines, and Payton Gaines; three great grandchildren, Kylee, Maddox and Roczen. Graveside Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 19, 2022 at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday March 18, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home.
