Erny has always been in my thoughts and I have been wondering about her lately. She and Russ were great neighbors when we all lived on Scioto Street. Erny when she had a day off from Gambles, would make us a double batch of oatmeal raisin cookies. My brother and I often did their huge yard. He got the riding lawn mower and I got the one you got to push. Erny always gave us jobs during college break at the Urbana Gambles store. I found boxes for gifts and dusted, if the time allowed. My family often went out to the farm on Sundays to catch blue gills and then watch Erny fry them up in her electric frying pan. Memories of Erny and Russ were very dear to my heart. ,

My husband and I send our regards to Erny's family. We watched her care for her home, yard, and business with such energy and devotion. She was an energizer bunny before they used the term. We fondly remember her and her husband Russ. We send our condolences and prayers to all. Greg and Marcia Ward, Urbana, Ohio

Dear Vickie and family, we were so lucky to have Erny and Russ as neighbors on Scioto Street. The photos in the tribute to Erny brought back so many fun memories. Later in life, Erny and I reconnected and it was always a highlight of my visits back to Ohio to get a ride in her big old Cadillac and go out for breakfast. A very generous, kind and energetic woman. She is in my heart. ThedaI
